Blogs Getting more Press Every Day

Found in ... Blog Stuff

Almost weekly I can find articles in the Buffalo News about web logging and bloggers. After some time I almost stoped reading them, because they always stated the same old thing. But I must admit that the recognition that bloggers and web logs had gotten in this last election was amazing. Many T.V companies would interview some of the more well known bloggers after the debates, and getting their take on the event, and what will be posted into the weblog. This exposure to weblogs is huge for the community. Last night on C-Span there was a lecture on weblogs and there demostrations of knowledge and sharing knowledge. It was titled "The Digital Future". It was given by a profesor speaker from Harvards school of Internet and Society (?) David Weinberger, and I found it very interesting how he focused on the subject of community within the webloggers, which I took to quickly since that was the subject of my graduate thesis. My favorite point was forgivness. He stated that in a magazine publication, journalists have time to proof all their works, there for when mistakes happen they can be very poor. But in weblogs, every article or posting is produced "on the fly" or quicly, so authors tend to make more mistaks, which is forgiven by the readers, since they understand what type of writing is being completed. He continues to note that this type of publishing, allows authors and readers to connect in a much more human way.
Here is a link to a listing of all the topics in the Digital future series. The Lecture is the last 2004 episode.

Message from the Berf
I may be a slacker - a modern day Bill Murray type - but that doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. I have the type of readers that live the slacker way and plainly enjoy life. If this is your demographic why not sponsor my ass. I could use the help, so if you're interested Click here to learn more about sponsorship opportunities. Thanks.
