Who Should Play the Joker in the Batman Begins Sequel?
Found in ... Flick Picks & the Boob-Tube
There has been allot of talk -rumors- floating around about who is and should play the Joker in the sequel to Batman Begins. For those of you have yet to see the movie, you might want to shut your eyes because me writing about the Joker reference at the end of the movie on the roof top scene with Gordon and Batman discussing the Joker playing card could potentially upset you. - OK so don't read that -
Via The Movie Blog, the boys who fill the site with movie news have been discussing this topic quite a bit, so I thought I would let my readers -Hi MOM- know which actors are currently in consideration for the role, and see what your thoughts were.
The first actor that I read about that was a big fav for the role of the most infamous Batman villain is Crispin Glover. Glover is a great actor who until the past few years was black listed in the industry by Steven Spielberg after a legal battle surrounding "Back to the Future II" (if you notice Glover does not play the father in the 3rd movie.) Glover was a very good villain in the "Charlie's Angels" franchise, and excelled even further when he fronted in "Willard". Glover is a tad on the crazy side, and I think he would look very convincing in the Joker garb.
Mark Hamill is the next runner up for the part of the Joker. Hamill does know the character better than anyone on the list due to his work as the voice of the Joker in the animated series. Which I would like to add he does a great job of. Hamill has had a dodgy career post Star Wars, but does manage to show up in things from time to time -kind of like saying "hey remember me I'm Mark Hamill, I was Luke in Star Wars."-
Lachy Hulme is the next thespian on the list of potential punster plunderer's. I personally don't know dick about hulme and would be a horrible judge of his abilities to fill the shoes. All I do know is that he is from Australia and stared in the Matrix movies and I don't even remember seeing him. So if anyone can enlighten me on his skills it would be greatly appreciated.
Finally we come to the latest addition to the list of candidates Paul Bettany. I am a big fan of Bettany, he is a nearly flawless actor who is in direr need of a role that will really boost his carrier. I was first impressed by Bettany as the imaginary roommate in "A Beautiful Mind" and he continued to complement Crowe in "Master and Commander". I was originally leaning towards Crispin Glover as the Joker, but once I read that Bettany was in consideration I may be changing my mind. I think he would do a damn good job as the purple nemesis.
Well there you have it kids; the current list of the faces being looked at for the role of the Joker. All of them good ideas, but who would be the best? Who would you like to see playing the Joker in the next Batman movie? Share your thoughts.
